The agent-run operation only works because a human stays accountable for every output.
It is tempting to be dazzled by what agents can produce. The discipline that turns that into something trustworthy is unglamorous and essential: a human in command.
AI still hallucinates
This is the first principle, not a footnote. Agents produce confident output that is sometimes wrong. The only reliable defense is a domain expert who already knows what the answer should look like, which assumptions to check, and where the failure modes hide. That is why I concentrate the work in fields I can personally verify — real estate, finance, construction — rather than wherever an agent will happily generate text.
Verification by design
Trustworthy output is engineered, not hoped for: every figure traceable to its source, assumptions surfaced rather than buried, and a structured handoff that puts work in front of a human in a form built for a decision. When I model a project five different ways and reconcile them, the point is not the number — it is being able to show exactly where every number came from.
Compliance as architecture
In regulated work, an unverified output is not just wrong, it is dangerous. So compliance is built into the operating model, not bolted on: the system is designed to flag where a license or a human judgment is legally required, and to route those moments to the appropriate professional. I make no claims to work I am not licensed to do — not law, not accounting, not securities — and the operating model is designed to keep that line bright.
Adoption is human
Finally, the soft part that decides the hard part: people adopt systems they trust and route around systems they do not. Explicit expectations, no unvalidated assumptions, and plain accountability — good fences make good neighbors, in partnerships and in AI rollouts alike.
